Overview
Ongoing product design for a personal finance app, from the first onboarding flow to a full component library.
The brief
Kestrel’s app worked, but it felt like a spreadsheet. The team wanted people to open it out of curiosity, not obligation.
Our approach
We redesigned the core flows (onboarding, spending insights and budgets) around one simple idea: show the most useful number first. Charts became calmer, colour was reserved for meaning, and every screen got one clear action.
A system, not just screens
Alongside the redesign we built a Figma component library with tokens that map directly to their codebase, so design and engineering speak the same language.
The result
A product that feels lighter to use, and a design system the in-house team now owns and extends every sprint.
